NFL Breaking News 4-16-09

There are some trade rumors out right now, but we have to first address the retirement of a very popular person. JOHN MADDEN!! John Madden has retired from broadcasting. Any comments??

In other news we see a lot of trade rumors out right now and some possible free agent pick-ups. There is a rumor about Braylon Edwards. He looks like next year he will be playing in a New York Giants uniform. Do you think that this will help the Giants or cause another disruption with another wide receiver??

Anquan Boldin is complaining about his contract with the Cardinals. He feels that there needs to be some "necessary" moves. He has told reporters that he would like to play for the Miami Dolphins. Is Anquan Boldin making a mistake by demanding a trade or is this the right decision??

Two other canidates are Chad Ocho Cinco, who has possible destiations to Oakland or Philladelphia, and Tony Gonzalez. Gonzalez isn't as likely to go anywhere and as far as I know there aren't many teams interested.

Another option that could happen would be the signing of Plaxico Burress. The Chicago Bears have shown interest, but it doesn't seem soon.

Matt Cassel: One-Year Wonder or Franchise Quaterback???

Is Matt Cassel a big bust or the next Tom Brady. If we look back to the 2001 season, we can see the first Patriot quaterback come alive. Drew Bledsoe was a Hall of Fame quaterback until he took a huge hit. Tom Brady was a wonder that year and led the team throughout the playoffs and in the Super Bowl Brady beat out Bleadsoe for the job. Now Tom Brady is in the top two quaterbacks in the NFL. My question to you is: Was Matt Cassel a one-year wonder or a franchise quaterback??????

NFL Draft Preview

In the first round I see some major busts and breakout players!
1. Lions: Matthew Stafford----I don't see Matthew Stafford living up to the pick he is going to be at. I honestly don't see any quaterback in the NFL able to turn around this team. I think they will have to wait for another Peyton Manning or possibly steal a 5th round Tom Brady (yeah like thats gonna happen).
2. Rams: Jason Smith----He will be a good player in the NFL. I don't see him in a Pro Bowl with the Rams though.
3. Chiefs: Eugene Monroe----He should be doing very good protecting Matt Cassel. Matt Cassel will be a bust though.
4. Seahawks: Aaron Curry----He will be the next Ray Lewis or Brian Urlacher. I see him having 100 tackles per season.
5. Browns: Michael Crabtree----I see Crabtree as a great wider reciever to develp as a Andre Johnson.

2009 NFL Offseason Before Draft

This has been a very wild off season for the NFL. It all started with the Redskins trying to improve their defense by getting Albert Haynesworth and DeAngelo Hall.
After that the big Jay Cutler thing went on forever. That was such a big Soap Opera. Eventually the Bears got Jay Cutler and Orlando Pace. The Broncos went crazy signing: C. Buckhalter, B. Dawkins, L. Jordon, C. Simms. Acquiring K. Orton for Jay Cutler.
The Bills got T.O.
Bart Scott and Lito Sheppard are Jet players. Matt Cassel and Vrabel went to the Chiefs. I can go on and on forever with trades. Most of these were off the top of my head. A lot of these moves can affect the draft. A few teams don't even have a first round pick. What are your thoughts??
